Default Drivers seat stuck in FULLY-DOWN, FULLY-BACK Position

Hello,

Vehicle: 2001 Jaguar XJ8 VDP

The title says it all. This happened while I was driving- the seat started going berserk, (forward, backwards, up, down, flipping forward, etc.) coming to a rest in the fully-down, fully-back position. .

Whats working: Lumbar.

Whats not: everything else.

Ideas so far:
- module is damaged/ dirty (want to switch module but cannot reach rear hex bolts to remove the seat.)

Im trying to get some idea as to how to approach this... keep in mind I cannot move the seat up and forward to access the rear bolts.

Thank you in advance. And sorry I’m not going to the proper process of introducing myself. I need a solution here ASAP.

Anything electrical with these, the first thing I try is a hard reset (remove the negative cable from the battery connection, touch to the positive post for a bit to let things reset and discharge). I assume it's only the driver's seat? Can you get the seat in an upright position using the key-fob memory settings? Maybe see if you can reach the seat motor wiring and unplug that once the seat is stationary, as a temporary workaround.

+1 ...and do you get any movement or noises when activating the controls? I can only imagine what that must of been like when it was happening while driving...dang.

Ignition key in / key out switch may need cleaning and lubing as the car thinks you are exiting ?
