Default Electrical Front Passenger Seat Controls Stopped Working

So, I drove Francyne's 2001 XJ8 to the company safety meeting. After the meeting the boss suggested I drive us to lunch. Unbeknownst to me he had also invited our friend and co-worker, Mark, who weighs well in excess of 400 lbs. Mark sat in the passenger seat and adjusted it back as far as possible. With him partially sticking out of the open sunroof, we went to lunch. The next day, the seat wouldn't move. Could this be a fuse that blew to protect the seat motor? None of the controls on that seat are responding.

Could I suggest you post in the X308 forum which covers your 2001 car. It is likely the experts in that series will be able to help you. This forum is for the aluminium saloons from 2003 to 2009

It could be a fuse...

If that's not it try the Hard Reset next.

If a Hard Reset does not work the next thing I would do is swap the control module from the working driver seat. If the seat starts working you know you had a bad module.

These cars have a history of wire insulation getting damaged by seat movement. If you find a blown fuse moving the seat to the full rear may have done so. Another common issue is the cover of the seat control module damaging the lines on the edge of the printed circuit board. If fuse and wire appear good you might try swapping modules between the passenger and driver's seats.
