Default Failsafe Mode comes on then off

For the past week, when I start my car the "Failsafe Engine Mode" message comes on then off. It never stays on and it only is doing it first start in the morning. The temperatures have recently dropped so I am wondering if anyone thinks the engine is just cold?? I don't want to keep driving the car worry free if it could be an indicator of something wrong.

Welcome to the forum blazerific,

I've moved your question from General Tech Help to X308 forum. Members here with the same model will be able to help.

When you get a minute, please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some info about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see.

In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.

Graham

If all you get is a momentary flash of that warning on the instruments at cold start, you probably need a battery. If the voltage momentarily dips below a certain threshold at initial cranking, you may see that message.

You should also check all the battery cables and connections in the boot for any looseness or corrosion.

Good luck!

I just started having this exact problem -- the Jag cranks for a bit longer than usual, starts up, and Failsafe Mode flashes only momentarily. Nothing else happens, car drives normally. Hopefully a new battery handles it.

If you search the forum you should find threads that associate the fail safe mode to the brake pedal switch. I had the same symptom.
