Fall Drive in the XJR
In early October our local Caffeine and Gasoline club had a fall drive. About 50 cars, ranging from Ferrari to Mitsubishi, left Tulsa and hit the twisties on our way to a small town in central Oklahoma. We met at a mansion built about 1oo years ago by an oil baron, toured the mansion and had a BBQ lunch in one of the HUGE rooms. Afterward, there were 2 designated areas where we could have our car photographed. We had a great time, and the Jag more than held its own during more than one high speed blast. I have attached a couple of pictures from the day for your viewing. Enjoy!
Very nice to see an actual driving thread among the plenty of 'my car does not start' or 'strange noise' threads ...
.
Especially the third picture is very nice, and shows the car design exactly as Jaguar intended to do some 20 years ago.

Where exactly did you go? I always enjoyed the Talimena Scenic Drive in Eastern Oklahoma. Driven it a few times with other car clubs, but not with the Jaguar. I like to stay overnight, get up at the crack of dawn and enjoy the road before the sightseers come out.

Yep, blacked out trim, added VDP chrome mirror covers, blacked out upper and lower mesh, and side trim delete. (Well, to be totally accurate only one side has been deleted. I'll eventually get around to the other side one of these days.)
We headed north out of Tulsa to Skiatook, took the winding roads northwest to Pawhuska, then went west to Ponca City and the Marland Mansion. The club has had several drives previously that went east out of Tulsa and covered parts of northeast Oklahoma and into Arkansas. My brothers came up from Dallas a few years back with a M3 and SLK AMG. The drives really are great fun with like-minded enthusiasts.
