Default Flex plate/sensor issues

1998 Jaguar XJ8 Vanden Plas
I am trying to figure if the flex plate, or torque converter are causing the plate to rub on the sensor, thus causing failure. There are “rub marks” on the plate, but I can’t tell if that is a plate issue or could it be the torque converter? Every used replacement plate seems to have at least SOME rub marks, and there are literally no new ones available anymore.
any, and I mean ANY help, suggestions or input would be greatly appreciated.
here is a video of my engine running and the noise can be heard.

It is possible that this is due to wear of the crankshaft thrust washers (#5 on the diagram) allowing the crankshaft to move axially and causing the flex plate to contact the sensor. Try shimming the sensor up by, say, 0.3 mm.

That makes sense, thank you! Now, is shimming the sensor the best way or can those washers be replaced? Can you expound on the shimming process, not exactly sure how that would work.
Many, many thanks!!

Does this represent an A26 engine driveshaft?

That’s not the A26 or 27 engine layout, thank you anyway.

The diagram shows the AJ26/27 crankshaft (from the Parts Catalogue). Land Rover TD5 uses shims on the crank sensor so you can try one of those or make one out of thin aluminium sheet.
