Default Going to do the timing chains this weekend, but have queries.

I'm going to follow this guide here http://jeg.serverhouse.com/Jag_docs/Timingchain.pdf but they haven't explained in enough detail how to lock down the crank.

I guess it's at the flywheel, but could somebody be more specific as to exactly how I do this. I have never done this before.

Also, I will need to remove the supercharger. Is there anything I need to know about this?

If you are only doing the secondary tensioners it is really not necessary to lock the crank as the cam flat tool holds everything in place.

The crank alignment tool is inserted, from the front, into a hole at the bottom center of the torque converter cover. There is a rubber plug there. Take it out and find the matching hole in the flex plate. This is only an alignment tool and not to be used lock the crank against torque.

I have a N/A car but I don't think you have to remove the supercharger, only the valve covers.

Thanks for the pointer.
