Hello everybody.Just purchased a 98 vdp and the leaper is missing. I located nos(new old stock) but no part# on box. The cat measures 4.75" total length 7".I looked up threads and found one that said correct one for my car is 7", but dont know if thats for overall length or just the cat. I does have the plastic nut with spring. I noticed the tail protrudes straight(free standing)behind the legs and the ones on ebay seem to curl behind body and dont protrude. tried attaching pic but wasnt able to.

 

Hey i found everything i ever wanted to know about hood ornaments (leaper), and things i didnt know i wanted to, in a thread on chain tensioners. I now know more than i could possibly want to know. if some one needs to id correct hood leaper, here you go:
