The hole problem with adjusting the parking brake.

According to the service manual, adjusting the parking brake was pretty straight-forward: Jack it up, take the rear wheels off, adjust the brake through the access hole...
1. Make sure gear selector is in NEUTRAL position and parking brake lever is released. Raise and support vehicle. Remove both rear wheels.
2. Install 3 lug nuts to secure brake disc to hub and tighten to 15 ft lbs. (20 N.m). Remove plug from access hole and rotate brake disc until access hole is aligned with adjuster.
Unfortunately, I'm either incapable of following directions, or something isn't right, because the access hole is solidly closed. It appears the only way I could get in would require removing more than what the manual indicates. Did somebody put this together wrong? Picture attached.

At some point the rear brake rotor/disc was removed and reinstalled incorrectly. The access hole in the rotor is *supposed* to line up with a corresponding hole in the hub, thus giving access to the adjuster.
The rotor/disc will have to come off, which means removing the caliper.
No big deal. Just a few minutes of work, really.
I made the same goof once. Gah !
Cheers
