Say what?! Was it really old or salvage or from your Pop (like Quad) or something? 3% that is a new record!

Do you have an early-90's XJ220 which where $1mm new? Even those typically go on eBay for about 60k which is 6%...

Well, I got a Daimler Super V8 for £3,000 a month ago. God knows how much it cost new originally. I dread to think - £80,000? That's 3.75%. I'm pretty chuffed about that but it comes with zero documents and no service history! And it's got a Jaguar grille. And no mats. And I need to fix the Alpine amplifier. And the ABS. And the....

When people say to me "how can you afford a Jaguar, Fraser?", I tell them that it's the same as the tramp picking up Sir Winston Churchill's discarded cigar butt. Same tobacco, same quality !!

Only Kidding !!!

At a party yesterday someone called out "Who has the Jaguar parked in front of the door?" (it was blocking other cars) and then after my acknowledgment, someone else blurted out "if I had a Jaguar I would park it in front too!", haha, if he only knew he could have 3-jags like mine for what most people pay for Japanese plastic-mobiles.

A friend just bought for $18k (16+fees/tax) for a fully-repaired salvage 2009 Honda Accord with 25k miles that has been in a major collision and has a very annoying loud rattle! These Jag's are the best kept secret!!!!

Yeah, I get the "Well it Must be Nice!" comments all the time. First, they are surprised at the year of the vehicle, then they are surprised at the cost to purchase. That is if I even share that information with them. Some people I leave thinking what they like.

Default Xjr

I paid 19% of the original value of my 2002 XJR with 54,000 miles (not including original tax). Not bad if you ask me

I paid $5,600 for my '01 VDP fully loaded; brand new was $67,665+tax. I'd say about 8% of what it cost NIB

Adam, how much does a clearcoat job cost?

meaculpa, if your car is in good shape and did not need repairs then that is a killer deal! I ended up just a few hundred dollars over you but had to invest quite a bit of time to get the car into tip-top shape (still in progress actually.)

I paid 16% of the original 2001 MSRP for a 2001 VDP SC. Definately a buyers market.

Bought my '99 XJ8 for $5,900 w/ 71K. Original window sticker was $59,580, so 9.9%, looks like I got robbed compared with what some of you have paid!

$7200 for a 01 XJR with 85,000 miles. Had to spend $1500 to update the tensioners, service the transmission, change belts, and a tune up. Also paid $100 to have a few dings popped out.

Hubba Hubba.
