For all those who have gone through the trial of door release issues. I have attached some pics. of a fix that I was able to pull off on my 98 VDP 308. After I had removed, cleaned and lubricated the door latch, replaced the cable I noticed the plastic bracket that holds the inner door handle and cable had one ear broken. The following pictures will show how it is able to fix without the expense and difficulty of locating a replacement, The small bracket was fashioned from a small gauge aluminum angel and secured with Gorilla glue and two 4/40 screws + nuts. Its not pretty but plenty strong and is out of sight when door panel is secured. I hope there is someone out there who will find this useful. I can be contacted @ chriselley@hotmail.com
