For a variety of reasons I rarely drive my '01 XJ8 at night. Recently, I did tho and found 1 light out in the speedo gauge and 1 out in the right gauge. Does the woodgrain instrument cover panel pop-off like woodgrain door panels with a plastic panel tool? Do you start at the bottom edges of the panel?

The panel is just held with 4 or 6 "snap connectors", it is not hard to take off, just pull evenly and it will pop off.
