Hi all, I’ve got a 2002 XJ8 Sport that I plan to break and swap into my 1999 XJ8 Executive.

I want to swap the:

1. Heated, memory seats
2. Memory steering wheel
3. Folding side mirrors
4. The whole interior

Is this possible? If so, are there any guides that I can follow?

 

I'm switching the entire interior out my 2002 XJ8 LS swap project car with the interior out of my 2001 XJR parts car. Made the decision becaude the XJR interior was near perfect and the XJ8 was a little rough and yellowed in some places. Would have rather not had to switch the dashs because that is a pain, but XJ8 all tan and XJR all black.

1. Heated, memory seats - Do both cars have the heated memory seats with controls on door and by climate control? Don't see a problem then unless control modules changed.
2. Memory steering wheel - Do you mean just the steering wheel or the entire column? Steering wheel is attached by I think 4 torx bolts.
3. Folding side mirrors - Don't see problem with this as long as control modules are the same.
4. The whole interior - Taking out everything but the dash from the XJ8 took about 4 hours. Be careful with plastic parts as they are made from unicorn tears.

Are you switching the carpet also? If so, you need to pry up the long metal Jaguar decal over the rocker panels to get to the screws holding the metal pieces that goes over the lip and holds the carpet down. I used a plastic interior trim wedge. Then placed on some wax paper so adhesive didn't attract dust.
