Jaguar Chuff
Hey all, my Jaggy has been running great, but I have a question about an odd noise. It only makes it after it has sat awhile, and it will only do it once for a split second then go away. It occurs when I put it in drive and accelerate. It makes this mild grinding chuff sound. Almost sounds like you are running over a large leaf. It also sounds like it is coming near the transmission area, but I do not know for sure. Just wondering if this is normal, or if anyone else has heard that noise before.
I think I figured it out. It sounds like the VVTs, once I rev the engine to 3k rpms it makes the sound and then it did not do it while accelerating after putting it in drive. Sounds like a rattle of some kind. She threw her first CEL at me today, I was hoping it would pin point something that might be causing it's intermittent starting problem, but it was just an EVAP small leak code. Tightened the gas cap and cleared it. Crossing my fingers now...
