Hey! So for the past month I’ve been driving my jag (2000 XJ8 Vanden Plas, V8) and it will randomly stall as I am driving it. The engine light and battery light will both come on and the screen will say “engine stalled.”

it flashes quickly on the screen “Battery is not charging.” I have taken it to the auto shop and they thought they fixed it but it happened two times in a row in a five minute span. Has anyone had this happen to them?

 

If it's happening just at idle, start by cleaning the throttle body throat and butterfly. don't spray cleaner into the throttle body, use a rag wrapped on a stick.

 

It’s actually happening mid drive! I’ve been in the highway when it’s happened, local street driving slower, parking garage not going very fast etc

 

You need to check for stored codes, could be throttle position sensor. It wouldn't hurt to clean all the throttle electrical connections.
