Default key cant get into the keyhole all the way

Hi,this has been an on going issue almost ever since I have purchased the car but I think it is time to pay attention on it

initially, key worked fine at the door since I did not even have my fob yet. Once I programed a fob (perhaps not even related) , I realized I cant put the key all way in the keyhole anymore but it only takes like halfway

I want to know what went wrong and how to fix it.

note:WD40 did not work

WD40 is not suitable for locks. It was developed as a water dispersant (hence the name) and is not a lubricant. Over time it dries out which is probably why your lock has become inoperable.

Locksmiths use liquid Graphite, powder Graphite or Houdini Lock Lube as a lubricant for locks. For a partially seized lock, the liquid Graphite or Houdini spray will likely be the most effective in freeing the lock and then keeping it lubricated.

Try putting the lock lubricant (if you can get some) or a light oil like 3 in 1 on the tip of the key and then gently wiggling the key as you push it home.
Just pray that some joker hasn't pushed a matchstick into your lock.
