keyfob woes!!!!!
ok so Mr. Dsynder sent me a key fob and i received it today. THANK YOU!!! Went to my local oreilys auto part, got a fresh battery, followed the program instructions on this site and no go! : ( my slcm says 315mhz and so is this fob. I think its going into program mode.. I get one alarm chirp and one flash on my shifter but touching the buttons on the fob does nothing then i get the 2 chirp which is error. Im lost now. I even took the fob to the store and tested it and its working fine. What to do now? Door was open, trunk open, i tried everything...
followed these instructions?
If it still won't play ball then it might be an earlier type of fob required, as in the one pictured, the later version has the keyring hole integrated, not a loop extending from it as pictured.
Hope this helps

Sean that is the remote i have and following those instructions i get into program mode but no chirp or security light flash when pushing the fob. I have tried pushing all the buttons and i get nothing and after a few seconds i hear 2 alarm chirps which according to info on this site is a security error code? Idk what to try now... Hard reboot?
no Jamie, a hard boot's a waste of time.
The earlier fobs take two batteries CR 2016? later style take one CR2032, maybe check the antenna on the rear screen, there's a small plug and wire at the top comes out of the roof liner, is it plugged in?

Ok just bought 2 2016 batteries and tested. The fob is transmitting fine. Checked the antenna its plugged in and the solder on the glass is good. I unscrewed the ant wire at sclm and still nothing...
Called my local jag dealer and was told my car. Needs some firmware update and they will do that and use jaguar computer to program this fob for 122.00 is this a rip off you think?
from my experience the pre 2000 and post 2000 year model use different keyfobs( dont know what was the purpose), I went to the dealer and they told me I got the wrong one and then bough a correct one and able to program it myself
I can only share what I know so far
