What a treat seeing all these new photos, I particularly love the shots of the Series III, something so rarely seen on the roads these days. I think I would struggle to choose between the Series II, Series II and X308, and I think these are joint equally my favourite Jag shapes.
You keep your XJR so incredible clean for such an unforgiving time of year Ken, it makes for very pleasurable viewing!!
It’s easier to keep her clean when the weather is decent (in relative terms of course) and all in all the XJR has had a relatively easy time so far this winter. Next month however looks like it will give her and her Michelin X-Ice a tougher test.
I do agree that it’s tough to pick a favourite Jaguar and agree that of the saloons the X308’s and the Series 3 cars are among my favourites (although a Mark 2 could easily occupy a special place as well). I sometimes think the best Jaguar is simply the one you’re driving at the moment.

And our high for both Saturday and Sunday is supposed to be -15C.
What was that about variety being the spice of life?
At least it was nice enough today to open the garage door and start the Series 3's V12 and let her warm up even though she won't see pavement for another three months.
And it should still be nice enough tomorrow to wash the XJR if I can fit it in.
And then it won't be nice for a while but although the days are getting longer and spring is getting closer.
This is from another thread - https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/o...-think-266782/ - and doesn't directly relate to the XJR except that she was the XJR's precurser daily driver for 15 years and never that far from thought. Coincidentally, after posting a couple of comments regarding Number 24 (and Number 92) over the weekend, my darling bride of 50 years asks me today where we should put these almost 16 years later:

They're usually on a bookshelf in the office but it was - and still is - less about the mementos/pride of place or even the cars themselves than it is about the friendships and the memories of the people, some of whom we haven't seen since but still think of on occasion.
Had the afternoon off today so put it to good use working through the to-do list in the house and in the garage.
My darling bride of 50 years will determine if the house tasks meet her standards. The garage tasks are easier to meet their own set of standards.
For the XJR, if you can see reflections of the VDP’s Pepperpots from the other side of the garage and the garden tools, she’s ready once again to venture out and brave the elements.
It was - 23 C this morning and will be + 3 C tomorrow so it will be pretty sloppy out there.

Honestly, the beauty of these elegant machines never gets old, does it?
It does not grow old in the least. It’s +4C and sunny this afternoon and we’re off later to our oldest grandson’s 6th birthday so she will stay elegant but perhaps not quite as clean. She did however survive yesterday’s errands relatively nicely:
It’s still interesting to me to see how different that Carnival Red Mica can be under changing light conditions.
Your car is certainly one of the most beautiful X308's I have ever seen Ken, you keep it looking to clean!
I'll never tire of popping here to look at the photos you have taken.
I think I may have created the wrong impression Chris…
she is indeed always beautiful but she is not always as clean as I would like her to be. After all, she is still a year round daily driver and there are some days like today where driving and clean are mutually exclusive terms.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, there might be just enough time to give her a quick wash before dinner.
Weird seeing that cluster in km/h, had to do a double take.
Welcome to the ROW 😀
I once was stopped in the US for speeding while driving my Canadian XK (a long story that involves a pack of Corvettes). The cop was absolutely unimpressed with my “but Officer, my speedometer is in kilometers per hour…”. That was an expensive comment.

Yeah, they don't seem to care about anything but writing that ticket out.
The Porsche seems to be a patrol car magnet, because if they see it, they
seem to follow it for a while, however they don't seem to be as interested
in the Duchess.
