Default LED, Halogen, HID, Xenon?

I am curious to know, has anyone used anything different than the standard halogen head lights in their Jaguar?

I am contemplating seeing if it is possible to use HID head lights/fog lights in my 2000 VDP.
Is this a bad idea?
What do you use?

If you use the search function, you will find several threads on HID.
I myself first upgraded to super whites, which works better but still rather below par.
Then upgraded the outer dipped and foglights to HID 6000k, which works more then good.
Left the high beams with the super whites, but they really dont add much.
I read LED gets too hot, but dont have personal experience.

Is it overly complex to switch over to HIDs? Any recommendation on brand or what is needed to get the job done?

Again, use the search function, there are 2 threads out there with pictures and advise.
Also about the BMW lamp adapter you will need to purchase if you dont want to tear up your H7 holder.

I used the absolute cheapest ballast I could buy on-line in China, used them for 2 years in my Jeep, then brought them to Taiwan and installed them in my Jaguar. Never any problem.
Branded ballast, like Hella and Bosch come out of the same factories ...
