Hi All
30 years after selling my last Jag I made an error in judgement by sitting behind the wheel of a 98 XJR. You know how you feel when offered a big bowl of ice-cream? You know you shouldn't, but.....Anyway, I bought it and all's good - except for the interior lights which go on and off constantly. My technical skill set has help me to discover that by thumping the dash, sort of above the clock, most times they turn off - and then back on, possibly when I hit a rough bit of road. I've scanned these forums enough to make me realise that I should probably sell the car and buy a bike, but haven't found anything relevant so far in regards to this issue. Any thoughts?
Cheers, Tony

Your issue sounds like a bad ground...but not seeing it, its tough to say. If you hadn't of said what you did about the dash bang, I'd of recommended checking the door latch microswitch. But you can roll through that schematic and trace it to a diagnosis.

Another good Jaguar driving song
A modern take on Edward Elgar's Nimrod from 1898 , feel it's British grace and majesty

Yes sir, that is an eloquent song....it exudes the grace and stature of a wonderful country drive in an opulent car such as the 308. Put it in your signature....
I liked that movie btw (big history buff)....it had a number of falsehoods regarding the actual event, but the way it depicted the story from multiple angles was rather unique.
