Lock issues

Default Lock issues

1999 jag xj8lGas tank IS LOCKED, but my doors will NOT LOCK with either remote or with key, or with button on dash. If I lock/unlock doors using remote, the seat responds by moving, there is the usual sound, but locks do not go up/down.
When I open the door, the alarm sounds. I have to "unlock" door - even though not locked - so there is no alarm.
Help!

First job is to check the condition of your battery. These cars throw up all sorts of wobblies if the battery is not fully charged.

+1 on battery condition as the first thing to check.

Sorry to hear about your lock issues. Whilst you're checking the possible causes, if you're locked out of the tank, it can be opened manually:
