Looking at an '03 XJ8 HELP,PLEASE
Good day to all! Hope all you fathers had a great day yesterday, I know I did!
Okay, my '98 XJ8 has blown the engine. Long story, but that's for another day.
I have found a 2003 XJ8 that looks and drive fantastic. ONE ISSUE.
It seems to be cycling through all,of the warnings upon start up. Engine fail, gear box fail, etc... but all seems well as far as I can tell. Battery replaced. I'm not sure if they knew to disconnect the cable and touch it to the pos terminal to re-set, but I will try that when I get to the car.
Any other ideas on this issue?
I know this dealership and they're honest fellas, so when they tell me it runs and drives great, etc..I fell pretty good about it. Just wanted to have an idea of what the issue could be.
Many, many thanks in advance!

There's a few things this could be but the main one is usually a 'CAN NETWORK ERROR'.
The gearbox selector adjustment if slightly out can trigger the scroll of death....an incorrect part like an ABS module with the wrong firmware too, just things like this.
Maybe drill down into what work they've had carried out prior to putting it on sale...
Have you an OBD reader? pull the codes - Also check the battery voltage.
