Question Loose Front Bumper / Loose Front Fender

Front Bumper (Front Fender) has become loose on one side and dropped 1 to 2cm. It now moves up / down 2cm on the one side .

I have found the two large bolts under the bumper which each attach to some sort of mount. One side is fine . The other side is attached to the mount, but then the whole mount seems to be moving with the bumper.

I have managed to take the attached photo which seems to show a plastic mount which has snapped horizontally below the two bolts which attach it to the cross-member. The wife says she definately hasn't hit anything (I suspect such wives are a common problem on all makes / models !)

But seriously: Before I start taking all the wrong things apart and breaking them...... Please let me know:

1. Is this a snaped plastic mount ?
If so could I repair with Araldite /Epoxy ?
(Hopefully without taking the bumper off ?)

2. If suggesting taking the bumper off, then please could you give a fair amount of detail on how.....Thanks !

3. Is this the mount if I am buying ?

yeh sheered bumper mount, to remove the bumper, unbolt the two long ones you've located, and pull the bumper towards you, it slides onto mounts either side of the front of the car, no other bolts.
Then unclip the indicator/fog connectors both sides, if it has powerwash headlamps unclip the hose, and move the bumper out of the way.
GOOD SOCKET - remove the bolts holding the broken mount and bolt up the new one, don't over tighten.

Thanks for this,

Is the part I have pasted into the above entry the correct one??? (It doesn't look right, but seems to be the only one listed ! Hence I am thinking of trying to epoxy the broken one rather than importing the wrong item !)

Thanks,

Graham

I'd buy and fit, not glue the support, its open to the elements, and is a load bearing item. It's the correct support. They're reinforced glass fibre, wear gloves when handling or they'll itch. Don't ask how I know this!

Thanks Sean,

Really grateful for your advice. I now have one in the post....About 70 euro with postage from a Jaguar main dealer.
Notably:
1. This is the first time ever that I found a jaguar main dealer to be cheaper than the British Parts web site !
2, This is the first time ever that a Jaguar main dealer knocked a few quid off the correct price !!! Try asking for discount, Jaguar main dealers seem to have learnt this strange word !

Maybe Jaguar main dealers have noticed the world recession?

Thanks again,

Graham
