Need advice where to source quality front rotors '02 XJ8
The front rotors for my XJR .. I picked them up at my local dealer. Part C2C41250 Kit-Brake D. List $352 - Net to me $280.00. Pads MJE2001AB Kit-Brake P. List $113.00 Net to me 90.40. The rear pads JLM21918 -- List 87.18 Net $70.00. The rotors are a kit -- two rotors.
This car had about 65k on it. The front pads last a bit over 30k. Four rotors were original. Replaced the rear pads as they had some hairline cracks -- still plenty of lining. The front rotors being close to minimum -- I replaced them. The rear rotors did not require replacement.
My local dealer will sell at about 20% off -- call you local dealer and tell them what you want. If they will not sell you at wholesale -- buy online. Obviously pay tax locally .. and shipping online.
Your XJ8 should have same prices as my XJR.
When I needed the two fuel pumps and related parts a while back, I was out of the USA and needed them on my return -- so I ordered everything online from Gaudin in Las Vegas. They charged me $35 to ship to the east coast -- about what the tax would have been locally.

I put Centric rotors and Akebono ceramic pads on my XJR and very pleased with both. About 2 weeks ago driving to work I have a 55 mph country road to traverse before I get to the hwy. I was toodling along at 55 mph and kinda daydreaming when I realized the car ahead of me had come to a complete stop to make a left hand turn and was waiting for a break in the oncoming traffic. I had to slam on my brakes the whole time thinking I am not gonna be able to stop in time, I am gonna hit them! But my Jag impressed the hell out of me as I came to a stop with less then a foot to spare and my heart beating wildly. The rotors and pads gave me no shudders or anything. Can't think of a better example of why I recommend them then that! They worked marvelously when I desperately needed them to!
