Welcome to the forum donnaleefort,

I've moved your question from Vendor Threads to X308 forum. Vendor Threads is for forum sponsors posts only.

Members here with the same model will be able to help.

When you get a minute, please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some info about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see.

Hi Donna,

you are directed to the right place by the moderator, but also,...1997 VDP is NOT X308 model, and the people on this site are very knowledgeable about the model they own, and not so much about the others. Your car is the last year of the six cylinder engine, and the 1998 year started with V8 (MANY different parts in interior, and under the hood, although the bodies look very similar).

Good luck.

Interior door handle failed? No, there is not a metal replacement for the plastic mushroom bit (that I have heard of). In fact, the new dealer one takes a lot of force it put in. I usually have to shave a groove into it. They do last a long time, but will always fail.
