No Heat
I'm hoping someone here has had this problem and corrected it. My XJ8 has no heat
. When I start her, she is often fine for a couple minutes, then it cools down to cold. I have codes B1264 B1265. Defrost doesn't even work. All the blowers do.
Now, my engine coolant level light has been stuck on for about a week. It usually flashes on and off as I have had a continuing problem with the sensor. The coolants fine. I just noticed when its off for even a few seconds, my heat returns. As soon as it comes on, the heat slowly gets colder. Temp readings inside the car seem to be stuck at 75 when being scanned,
Does the coolant level sensor & light have a direct effect on the heat?
Thanks for any info.

As you have had no direct reponses, you could try looking around at the other "no heat" threads for information.
Be careful in your assumption that the coolant warning light is a sensor problem. It might not be, and then you toast your engine.

Thanks, Plums.
I had a pressure test done and replaced the coolant hoses. The engine temp stays perfectly in the middle. I thought I had seen something in the past about the coolant warning light and heat. I'll look some more.

I do not believe that the coolant sensor is in any way is tied to operation of the climate control system. I would appreciate the details of where I am wrong.
'No heat' and changing heating problems seem to be associated with the small electric pump in the system more than anywhere else.
'Search' will indeed bring up lots of discussions on the subject.
