O2 sensors
i replaced my o2 sensors on the drivers side with a couple universal ones...check engine light went off for a couple days and came back on for o2 sensors.. do i need jaguar sensors or is there a way around those.. i need it to pass emissions now
depends which universal ones you got, I think the Jag units have heaters, meaning a 3 wire set up, do yours have 3 wires? what year is the car, is it a 2 sensor or 4 sensor engine?
its a 99 xj8, it has 2 per cat with a 4 wire set up 2 are heater i believe. i got the right set up for the car matched up the wires the right way and check engine light was off for a couple days then came back on for the o2 sensors
sounds like the 02 sensors were not the true cause of the original CEL, do you have the codes perhaps?
Or, you could need to do some additional drive cycles to totally clear the code. I'd drive it for another week or so, make sure that isn't the issue.

That is not uncommon if you did only one side. We recommend folks replace in pairs, both up stream or downstream sensors. It doesn't surprise me at all that you are having problems. Do the other side and see what happens.
i have 3 codes up P1000. computer not ready...P1647 and P1647 which are o2 sensors bank 1 and thats the side i replaced. the only reason i had to replace them is cause the wires to them got chopped by a buddy droppin the cat with out unplugging them.
