Default Oil pressure. Water temperature

As the 2 gauges mentioned are basically On or Off, I have decided, in my 1999 3.2 XJ8, to supplement them with gauges that give the actual oil pressure and water temperature. I know of places that will convert the existing gauges but are very expensive. My question is, what are the threads that the existing sensors screw into? With the Oil Pressure I am going to use a 'T' piece. With the water temperature I will either use a 'T' piece or split the top hose and fit an adaptor and fit the sender unit into that. The gauges will be electric and not mechanical. All advice and suggestions will be welcome. Thanks Bill W.

whitexkr, one of the forum members and sponsors, markets a conversion kit for the temp. gauge. His website is thejagwrangler.com. It may be prohibitive to pay the duty, but worth looking into.

I purchased "Real Gauge Temp Gauge" from TheJagWrangler.com for $115.00 shipped for my XJ... I know he has one for oil pressure as well as coolant temp.
Install was really simple, about an hour start to finish. For the money, this is honestly probably one of the single most worth while upgrades I have made to the car. I very strongly recommend that you take a look at it.

Thanks for the replies. The Jag wrangler is the one I have looked into. The oil pressure conversion he does is aimed at the XK8 that already has an oil gauge, plus he does a conversion for the ones that have the sat nav screen. rather pricey. I can get both the gauges and senders for under £30. All I have to sort out is the mounting method and position.

Still looking for the Thread sizes for the original senders.

Thanks

Bill W.

If your are interested, contact me and I will give you a really special package price for RealGauge for coolant, plus the oil pressure T-piece kit (Jaguar V8 Oil Pressure Adapter - TheJagWrangler) for use with your own oil pressure gauge/sensor, including free shipping to the UK.

You can PM me on the forum or reach me here: Contact Us - TheJagWrangler

Even if you do not purchase my kit, my hard learned experience is you get what you pay for with cheap Chinese import gauges and sensors. I suggest you purchase a higher grade gauges/sensors or there is a good chance you will be chasing leaks and malfunctions before you know it.
