Oiling question

This may sound foolish, but- The tensioners have a pin with a orange head like a thumbtack that must be removed after the tensioner is installed. It keeps the shoe collapsed. You don't see that pin, do you?

Not foolish at all. But i dont think its there. I know everything was good until it got hot that one time. I put everything back together so i cant see right now. But i do not remember seeing the retaining pin.
