Default P0730 Need ideas

HI
I purchased a 2003 Vanden Plas with 125000km on it.
My code reader shows P0730 torque converter solenoid and after trying a hard restart the code remains.
It was in limp mode and the po said it used to shift fine but it slowly kept going back into limp mode. Any way the price was right and I have undertaken this project.
So I have now changed the transmission oil filter and fluid. The fluid was not really discoloured and just a light build up of crud on the magnets, and no other filings or drum issues are a concern, and of course I do not have a hoist so the burn on my arm is healing nicely.
At this time I also removed all 4 wheel speed sensors and cleaned them and checked with an ohm meter.
I understand that the TCM gathers information from about 10 circuits, is there a way to check these circuits independent from going to the jag store? Not interested in them telling me I need a transmission.
So the next step for me is to remove the TCM and look for water intrusion?
Anyone else want to chime in?
Cheers
Rick M

Have you experienced hard shifts? Like a bang into gear?
Read up on the 'transgo valve kit' within this forum, buy it and fit it, then see what turns up.

This is the number one insurance against a destroyed gearbox, and by now you must be aware of the very common problem with these ZF trans.

Hi
I bought the car stuck in limp mode, so it has only been driven in limp mode. When I did the filter I also installed the Trans Go kit at the same time as it seemed like a good upgrade to do.
Cheers
