jaguar xj8 2001. the engine coolant light keeps coming on at intervals say every 4 months. when this happens i put water in . i took it to the dealer who said there is no leak. what coolant is best to use if it contnues

 

Obviously it's either leaking, or burning off, if you have to add every so often. The one thing you don't want to do is to mix types - If it's already the factory Orange coolant, do NOT add the green stuff. If someone has changed it to green (and by that, I mean PROPERLY changed it over, by fully flushing EVERYTHING), then you want to stick with the same. But chances are it's supposed to be the factory orange.

 

I'd use a u iversal fluid, like I already do, as I was not sure what the previous owners had used, as it was red...
