Almost ready to fire up my rebuilt AJ27 for my '01 XJR and I found a bag of the old cam cover and ignition coil cover bolts that are presumably a black oxide finish instead of zinc finish. I opted to replace every nut, bolt, and washer during the rebuild so that everything is new - can't stand the thought of reusing dirty hardware with everything else new and shiny looking. I have already installed all of the zinc and noticed that from the factory it seems that black oxide was used - much better look as it fits in with the color of the cam covers and coil covers. Does anyone know if there are part numbers for the black oxide hardware, or were they only used at the factory and zinc was the only thing available as a spare part? I'd like to keep everything under the hood looking as factory original as possible, hence wanting to avoid zinc if possible.
