Default Power Steering Fluid Leak

Hi. I've just bought an XJ8 3.2 1998 with a power steering fluid leak from the hose that feeds the power steering fluid cooler. I want to tape it up so I can get it to a Jag specialist (as there are a few other issues). My local mechanic says its a high pressure hose up to 2200 psi so a waste of time to patch it up or repair it.

I see on other models/posts people have done their own repairs which would indicate that the cooler side is low pressure. Is my mechanic taking the psi ?

I've bought a 2nd hand cooler but while hoses look intact they also look brittle so may have wasted my money.

Anyway - can anyone tell me if the X308 power steering cooler is high or low pressured. Thanks.

The cooler is on the return line side (low pressure side).

+1 Low pressure and relatively easy to replace to solve the problem. Took me ten minutes, most of the time getting the old hose off the lower nipple where the rubber had molded to fixture.
