the jag is finally coming together, the long awaited xjr grille and now the mono blocks. all i need now to complete the car is (get it running) get a new passenger door after a hit and run last yr, fix the ripped frame support at the front bumper from a bad tow last yr, and get it painted black w that lovely gold pinstripe
I'll speak from experience. I've run integrated amps, preamps, active crossover systems in 2 and 3 way, and the associated monoblocks/stereo, both with tubes and solid state. There can be a dramatic improvement in clarity, dynamic range, reduced distortion, you name it - if your loudspeakers are capable of the resolution. Good gear needs good gear. I've run solid state to the LF and tubes for the HF to get the best of both worlds. It works. I won't propose that it's better because IMHO it's a matter of preference between tube distortion and ss distortion, regardless of lab measurements. NoxVidmateVLC I know what I like, and that's what my system is.
