Raced and lost to Lexus IS-f
I was driving on the open highway today and saw one of these I think Lexus IS-f (with the 4 tail pipes) and we decided to have a go.
From 70-100 he pulled about a car length on me and was pulling away stronger at 100.
But, for some reason I do not understand, my xjr was faster at 130 and up.
I'm not sure what mods this guy had, but that car was fast! Definitely faster than stock.
At one point he jumped the gun and I did not, to see just how fast he pulled away from 70 to ? was pretty impressive.

You would be feeling a bit peeved with all the 'mods' you have performed
on your car.
I would also suggest he is probably carrying a little less weight ;o]

Wow. That's FAST in the car. I don't do that. My car is my comfortable den, and I seldom touch 90-100 mph.
But,......I LIKE speed! Since two of my best friends are cops (and happen to be motorcycle cops!), we go and play in the desert sometimes (between Barstow and Baker). Their bikes (PD - not CHP issued BMWs), are as fast as my K1200RS. All three were clocked at 154-155mph (one guy takes a break, and works with the laser). However,......my old and trusty ZX11, was clocked at 163mph, and cops' bikes can not touch it. Both of my bikes are stock, with no mods.
Here in SoCal you can go up to 90mph on the bike on most freeways (CHP lets it slide), anything over, and you are asking to be pulled over (they pull cars over 80mph). When I am alone, I keep it under 90 most of the time. Even with two PD cops as "escorts" we keep it civil on CHP controlled freeways (there is ongoing feud between CHP and local PDs).

This was on an open road, as in 5 lanes wide with very few cars on the road, on a section of the road where the cops have no place to hide. My car is equipped with, um, ahh, how shall we say, more "aggressive" laser detection/"cough" systems....so we both felt it reasonably safe to have a go at it. My running gear is in good shape, new balanced tires, decent brakes, etc.
I would not have gone anywhere near that fast if there was any amount of traffic. I would not be interested in endangering anyone else on the road.
In the end we both gave the thumbs up and big smiles, and I did give him the bow down gesture admitting defeat in a respectful way. It was all fun and games. Boys will be boys and all that.
I certainly do not think my 475hp/4100 lb saloon is, or should be, the fastest thing on the road. But for around $15K total invested, including all my mods that are currently on the car (nitrous removed) I think it is a screamin deal, especially considering that I really like it's looks, and luxury comfort too. The Lexus was over $60K+ whatever mods investment this guy must have invested, so for me to be able to give him a good run was entertaining.

Nope, not me, my total investment in the car is $15K
I think the twin screw kits run about $10K by the time all is said and done. (Any TS guys, please correct me if I am wrong here )
I am at approx 475 HP based on a 0-100mph run of 10.5 seconds.
The twin screw guys are generally running 500-550 HP, so +25 to 75 hp more than me. Approx 2.5-7.5 car length lead on me at the end of a 1/4 mile flat out race.
I'm regularly seeing 17 psi of boost :
92mm Pro-M mass air
4" to 3.5" intake tube
82mm maxbored TB and port matched elbow
Water/meth injection running before the blower to help it seal better, and runs much cooler (and gives +1 lb more boost)
ported 5th gen Eaton super charger with + 4 lower pulley (stock upper) No heat soak issues w/stock radiator
uprated 010 bosch inter cooler pump
1 step colder denso U-groove spark plugs
Kenne Bell boost a pump
Nameless perofrmance high flow cats

I know him!
OK, so I know this Water Dragon guy and he’s certifiably crazy! I’ve worked on his Cat with him and he with me on mine (we’re the Cam Chain Tensioner guys.) Honestly, this guy has the heaviest right foot in NoCal. Me? I’m just this old (6 years into SSI) guy who manages to coax 145MPH out of my VDP Supercharged on CA Rt 24 (could go faster but my “Check Diaper” light comes on.)
