What's the recommend grade and recommended oil change interval? I bought a 2003 Vanden Plas and I have no manual. I have 49K on the odometer.

 

Here's what my 02 XJ8 manual reads: 10,000 miles for oil and filter change or no more than 6 months. Recommended oil weights: 0W-30, 5W-30, 0W-40, 5W-40. The manual recommends 5W-30 for best fuel milage.

I believe a lot of owners change their oil and filter at 5,000 miles, I do. I change my own oil and filters and use Walmart's Supertech synthetic 5W-30 and Wix oil filters or NAPA Gold filters which I believe is also made by Wix. I use both of these products based on my research about their high quality and modest price.
