HI all on my wife 2000 xj8 the drivers seat controls.some have stopped working, .ie.headrest, seat heater, memory. so my question is can I use the seat electronics from another seat as I have a spare passenger seat from another project. are the controls the same for both seats. thanks JRB53

I had the same problem on my XK8.

Took the plugs out, cleaned the pins and refitted. Hey presto, no more problems.
It might just be that simple, it worked for me.

 

I have switched the passenger and driver modules and there was no problem.

 

While the seat is out, check the drive cables too. I have had 3 fail. My car has 193,700 miles on it. I posted some pictures in an album on the forum titled, "power seat fail details". I tried to attach them to the reply, but don't know how to do that.
