Side marker lights in the UK
Has anybody in the UK wired up the side reflectors to work as marker lights as per the USA spec cars ?
If so , where did you tap in to for the power ?
The reason I ask is that playing around in the man cave with an old reflector, I opened up the back so as I could fit a bulb holder, and having too much time on my hands painted the bulb with red glass paint. It looks totally original when off, and lights up red when on. Tried it on the car and it looks quite good, but obviously cant be driving around with them wired up to a spare battery like I did for the test.
Obviously I also don't want to just splice into the lighting circuit in case I blow a module or worse. Or is it case of getting parts from the USA ?

I had a 2002 xj8 VDP that had leaper emblems in the front fenders. I obtained the correct repeater lenses, and on the US spec cars, the harness and socket is already taped in place on the RH side. I simply ran two wires up to the front signal harness on the left side and spliced in... No hard job, they worked great and also gave a flash when the alarm is set! Brandon
