My '98 XJ8 has front brake squeal. As I have just recently acquired this car, and the man I bought it from had little concept of maintenance, I simply assumed I needed new pads, and possibly new rotors.
When I pulled the wheels to look, the rotors look all but brand new, and the pads as well....unless new pads are extremely thick.
Is it possible that all I need to do is open these back up and add the "anti-squeal" gel/material sold at auto parts stores to eliminate this noise? Or is there a bit more of an issue I am unaware of with Jag?
