Stolen Jaguar (not really)
My mom and dad keep stealing my 2000 XJ8. The day I showed it to them my dad asked for the keys and then he and my mom took off for over an hour, leaving me standing in the driveway. This last Sunday they came over and we were to go out for dinner. The keys were out on the counter. I went to change, keys gone, mom and dad gone, XJ8 gone. They called me from the restaurant and said I should drive over in my Chevy! This is most distressing!
Well, at least they didn't disapprove your choice of cars.
There is definitely a difference between means of transportation and real cars! Sometimes it takes a while but eventually everybody will know the difference once they've experienced it.
I think you are getting a hard time keeping your parents out of the Jag.

They will either leave it in the drive, or fill it up!
OR just keep the keys in your pocket.
Hey, small price to pay for all they've done, I reckon.
My dad (86 this December) does the same thing. I'm thinking of buying him an X300 (less issues with the engine and tranny..), which looks close to the same as the x308, and letting him drive it for as long as he wants (if I can get him out of his 5 series beemer).

It was my father that
sparked my interest in Jaguars way back in 1971, when he came home with a 1969 Daimler 250 V8, manual/ overdrive. Connaught green, biscuit interior and a webasto sunroof.
Unfortunately he passed away 25 years ago, and mother has never driven in her life.
