My 2002 XJR has striping on both sides, front to rear. I have had some body repair work done recently and I need to replace the left front wing part.

I have called all the usual Jaguar part dealers here in the Netherlands, but nobody has anything like this. My Jaguar is an American version and I believe many USA Dealers put stripping on their cars themselves. ( I know in the US Jaguar Club there was a lot of controversy around the XJS as apparently, the norm was not to have stripping as it was not factory fitted and almost all American XJSs had them fitted by their dealers.

Anyway, my only option is to get them made to order, here in the Netherlands,

I need one like this for the left / driver side

which is possible, but rather expensive. I thought I would check on the forum to see if anybody has any idea, or knows somebody that is familiar with these sort of stripping.

If that is simply pinstriping tape you should be able to buy it at any autoparts store, or online on eBay.

If it is painted on, most good autobody paintshops or pinstriping/detail shops can do that.

 

My X308 Sovereign had a single factory applied (painted) stripe which was also how they appeared in the brochures.

A factory coachline will be painted. A self adhesive one could be Dealer applied or more likely aftermarket.

I wish it was that simple. I want it to be a perfect match with the other stripping. Size, colour, texture. So far I have not had any luck with anybody.

I have found a shop that claims they can make any type of stripping. Not cheap, but it is probably the way forward.
