Default stuck in park

I have an electrical problem.
most of my fuses are grounded.
all of the warning lights that can come on do, including trans fault, because of this I cannot
shift out of park. I need to shift into neutral to remove the trim piece so I can check for a short at the shifter. any ideas on how I can get into neutral.
my scanner is giving me 'line error' because of the short, so it wont let me clear the tranny code.

Before you tear into it.....I ran into this once and disconnected my battery. I then touched the negative cable to the positive cable to clear any bad memories. When I hooked the battery back up all was well. I think this is referred to as a hard reset????

Hopefully it's this simple for you.

Not sure what "my fuses are grounded" refers to?

Did they blow??

Make sure that the battery is not weak - this will cause all kinds of problems.

You also have an interlock in the shifter that "unlocks" when you step on the brake. A failed brake switch will cause this.

If all else fails you can remove the shift cover and manually unlock the shifter - this is covered in the owners manual and is required if you have a dead car and need to pull it onto a tow truck.

Default stuck

got the trans to move into neutral thanks for that.
all my fuses that should be hot are grounded.
all fuses are good.
swapped for a known good battery.
I was told to jump the relay for the fuel pump, as this was my original problem, the relay was good but had no current at the fuse.
jumped the relay and had current at fuse but now everything is screwed up.
it seems jumping the relay made a small problem bigger any clues?
