Sunroof Leak

Sunroof Leak
Well took my headliner out of the xjr to repair the saggy liner and after driving around today with no liner my rear passengers started to get rained on. Pulled it into the garage and I can see light through the sunroof. I tried letting the sunroof auto close to the appropriate position and Can still see light through. Also noticed the sunroof seems loose, rattles over bumps and sunroof pops up when doors are shut, tried with my parents xj8 and the roof stays put. I noticed it would pop up and rattle before the liner was removed, perhaps there was no leak before due to the liner absorbing all the water and then begining to sag. Does anybody have a similar experience with a saggy liner and loose sunroof? I know sunroofs can be tricky and a lot of times it is just analyzing and playing with the mechanism itself.

leaking moonroof
As I understand it, the moonroof is not designed to be watertight, so it's not surprising that you can see daylight. From what I understand, the cloth covered plasic panel that forms the bottom finished surface of the sliding panel acts as a rain diverter that channels any water that gets past the seals into the drains, which empty aft of the rear doors. I am sure that someone else will verify of refute this info. I would guess that you will not have the problem once you get everthing back in place. hope this helps!
