Is there a work around to get the heated seats to function in warmer climates?
Hello All: I recently purchased a low mileage 2002 XJ8 for the Wife for her use and she is generally pleased except for the pre-programmed, limited temp range of the heated seats to function. We live in South Florida and the User's Manual states that the heated seat do not function above certain temperatures, of which that temp is not listed, but I noticed that they had worked briefly during a recent very "cold" {about 55F- everything is indeed relative..} morning, but never at higher temps. She has back problems and needs to keep her seat warm nearly all the time, even with the AC on, which is required down here almost year round. Any suggestions for a work-around to keep the heated seats functioning in my warm climate? I'm a retired engineer and have figured out a new circuit, complete with an external switch, but before I tear things up, maybe there is a neat, and easy fix/setting for this requirement? Thanks in advance.
