Ah, a new week a new problem with my XJ8. :[

Today I went to start it - failsafe mode.
Ugh, so i let it warm up for a bit because i hear multiple cold starts is a bad thing...


Anyways - about a month ago got a rebuild TB.
When it last did this failsafe problem I could turn the car off, turn it back on, and it was good for a few days before going into limp mode.

Now failsafe mode always comes up even before starting the engine.

Disconnected the battery because reasons - left it off for about 15 minutes, hooked it back up.

Now I have no failsafe warning but the engine 'idles' at 3500 RPM.

What do?

 

Well it's kinda screwed. Tow truck coming tomorrow. Back into it's natural habitat it goes.

 

Who did the Tbody?

Thats a shame -- what did they do to the old T-body. TPS?

 

Not sure, it was a rebuild from some place - 800~ bucks. Has a two year warranty though which is nice. So hopefully it'll just be some warranty work and the car rental charge. . .. I hope.

 

There is apparently a TPS calibration procedure you might need for the new TPS. I would have a talk with the rebuilder.
