Default Transmission/now no start-HELP!!

2001 XJ8L, my transmission started acting up in Nov right before I stored the car for the winter. I had the car towed to a transmission shop for repair today. In the mean time the car will not start. I put in a new battery to play it safe, still nothing. It has been a couple months since I started the car. The security system light keeps blinking and will not go off no matter what I do. Any thoughts on how to get started? Shop wants to fix car but it won't run. Would a hard reset work? Need help as soon as possible.
Thanks!

A hard reboot certainly wouldn't hurt. Sounds like you security control module is having a problem.

Here is the report from Jaguar.
Car no start issue-body control module-shorted out some how during battery change on vehicle-Jaguar part $839.00-found my own $59.00 for part-tech time $200.00
Transmission problem- Error in unit causing mis-read of torque converter speed/stall. Complete rebuild of tranny with new torque converter by dealer $2800.00+/- after some additional costs for exhaust gaskets. Dealer provides a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty on rebuild. Going to let dealer do work on transmission. The mechanic is actually a stand up guy. He called me and told me about the module, gave me the part number and a few places to check for one so I would not have to buy the dealer unit for $839.00. He is the same mechanic going to do the transmission.
Will update when I am rolling again and how everything turns out.
