Default The true fix for bad fob buttons

I have finally tired of the rubber pad fob button connections on my x308, i have cleaned with everything, lightly scuffed and still nothing but random working buttons.

My fix is quite simple for those who can solder. I used some spare buttons from an old fob from another vehicle but the buttons can be sourced online (eBay) as well. I will warn you that I did some experimenting on this fob so it doesn't look the best but I wanted to be sure that it worked before I do my decently working one.

On to the pics.

Left is the modified fob, right is a factory one.

Now here is what you need to know. The button attachments you use should have a contact between the trigger and common when pressed and no contact when off.

While I was in there, I took the Mobil Speedpass pill out of my Speedpass fob (for those who don't know its an RFID tag that lets you pay at the pump) and put it in the Jag fob, which eliminates something else from my keyring.

And for the finishing touch I polished the case and filled the growler with gold model paint.

So it's been a few days and all works flawlessly since I have it sorted out. Things do what they should on the first press every time and you have a positive click feel when pressing the buttons.

Long term update. Everything still working like a charm!

I will be doing a cleaner write-up in the next few days, I think I have been able to eliminate some of the work as well.
