Default Trunk lights

I have 13+ volts to my trunk lights, but they won't light up? Take the bulbs to a remote 12 volt battery and they light right up.

Thoughts?

I am having a similar problem, but mine also involves the trunk latch and license plate lamps.

A comment to my post suggested that the trunk(boot) lid wiring harness may have broken wires because it is flexed over and over every time the trunk is opened and closed. You have a separate ground ire for each circuit, so run a temporary ground to see if you might have a broken ground wire.

Thanks Mike. I was able to open the trunk latch micro-switch just enough (without removing) to clean out with some spray and compressed air. Worked it a few times and the lights started working. I still don't know why 13 plus volts at the socket wouldn't light the lamp prior to cleaning switch, maybe a ground issue? Anyway, you may want to try that. I checked all the wires at the right trunk hinge first, all seemed to be fine.
