What I'm asking is can the clicking sound be changed? I read a bunch of threads about replacing the speaker when it goes bad, and I got to thinking that it would be great to replace the speaker with something that would generate a much more pleasant tone.

Has anyone done this? I've been searching the web for answers and haven't found anything yet. Wouldn't it be nice to have a chime rather than the annoying click? I think so.

Apparently I have too much time on my hands today!

 

You could hook it up to the CD with an appropriate sound?
