upgrade audio system?

ive have recently bought a 2002 xj8 3.2 sport, with standard tape/stereo console, and a cd in boot, is it possible to fit newer system say from a 2003 jag with built in sat nav to the existing wiring ? thanks.

You should consider if its worth it as the functionality of the factory sat nav is limited, but as others correctly stated, it does work ok.

If you are talking about upgrading to the large colour touchscreen as seen in the X350 (US MY '04 and up) I've never seen this done

If you want to add a proper aftermarket sat nav system, it can be done, but is quite intrusive, ie

audio upgrade

hi sarc, thanks for replying i will look on websites. if to costly i might leave it till i can afford a newer model with all singing and dancing gadgets. last jag i owned was 28yrs ago 2.8L 1973 so i shouldnt be to concerned with my audio system, certainly come a long way to the old 8 track i had balancing on the crome city dash board of my jag.
