Default Valet button?

Could someone tell me what the valet button is. Did my car come with a little guy in the trunk that jumps out and parks my car for me when i pull into a McDonalds?
Thanks for any replies.

The car came with a green Valet key; when the Valet button is pushed, the boot is locked, and the green key can be used only to unlock and start the car (not open the boot). The regular master keys are then needed to open the boot, etc.
Like Maniac said - download the owners manual (or find a scrapyard that has a car with manual left inside....).
Cheers!

The Valet button (with the associated Green valet key) locks the glove compartment and trunk while you valet the car. Next time you use the normal black key, they can unlock.

Hey, I never got a "little guy" in my trunk. Probably ran off when it traded hands.

Something oxymoronic about a Jaguar in a McDonalds. But it could be worse, I guess. How about a DBS in a Mcdonalds...or worse yet, a DBS in a Burger King. Now there is a vision that hurts my eyes!

Default What is a boot?

Whats a boot and can I possibly find a black key for it?
Is it possible the black key is hid somewhere in the car?
Where can I download a owners manual?

The reason I used Mcdonalds is because that is probably the only place I will be able to eat after repairing this boogar.

Hey, I repair them for a living and own three of them...I've been eating at McDonalds for about 20 years now. Oh, and that's when I want to go out to someplace nice.

A boot is what you wear on your foot.

Valet key is green, and, yes, I imagine seomeone could have hidden it in the car for storage...maybe some gold coins too. Good luck searching! Truth is though, it was probably kept back by one of the previous owners...most common reason for them being missing.

Unfortunately, they need to be programmed to operate with your ECM and/or BCM by the dealer.

Default Direct Link

Here is a direct link to the literature and manuals. It does change occasionally, but right now, this is current:

http://www.ownerinfo.jaguar.com/extf...prod/index.jsp

PS: Give the pages time to load, especially on slow connections. Even on my 30MB connection, it's VERY slow.

I only had one key with my car when I bought it, but have had a spare made. This spare has no chip, but can un lock the doors, which is what I want. I had it made after I locked myself out the car, but as I'm the only driver, I need the only chip key. It cost me £7.50 back in March at my local Locksmith.
